Saro’s new series unfolds like a visual mixtape: layered, rhythmic and impossible to reduce to a single reading. Across the composition, fragments of nightlife, street culture, posters, graffiti, music, manga, mythology and everyday life overlap and transform one another.

The work does not simply collect images. It makes them resonate. A crowd becomes a pulse. A comic-book figure becomes an archetype. A poster becomes a memory. A boombox, a painted wall, a dance floor or a fleeting face can all become part of the same visual language.

Saro’s approach is rooted in accumulation and collision. The image is built through layers, but these layers never remain static. They appear, dissolve and reappear, creating a sensation of movement — as if the artwork were playing at several speeds at once.

There is a strong sense of popular culture throughout the series, but it is not treated as decoration. It becomes an archive: personal, collective and constantly changing. The work brings together glamour and rawness, celebration and nostalgia, fantasy and documentary traces.

The result is a dense and luminous visual field, full of details to discover. Every viewing reveals a different route through the image. Rather than offering one fixed story, Saro invites us to move through a living constellation of references.

Fragments of a Living Culture is an artwork about memory in motion — about the way images, sounds and experiences remain with us, overlap and continue to evolve.
